International Band Pedagogy Seminar
Date: May 4th, 2016
The result of a multi-year collaboration between American and European conductors and teachers, this seminar is specifically designed for conductors and conducting students (both graduate and undergraduate) who are looking to: 1) codify techniques of aural analysis of live sound for maximum rehearsal efficiency, and 2) explore detailed instructional techniques and assessment of instrumental, rehearsal and ensemble pedagogy from the podium. These topics will be explored collaboratively with colleagues that teach throughout Europe and the United States.
Located in the countryside about 90 minutes from Frankfurt, Schlitz is a beautifully quaint German village that houses the Landesmusikakademie Hessen. Housing and meals are located on site and public transportation to and from the airport in Frankfurt is easy to use.
Sessions will be led by American professors presented in English with German translation.
