Attractions in Singapore
We know most conference attendees wanted to take in the sights and sounds (and shopping) of Singapore while they were there. Ingrid Martin spent much of the week before the Conference exploring some of the many things Singapore has to offer and shared her tips with readers in this article.
PSWEblog
One of the features provided throughout the Conference was the PSWEblog, a regular report from Marc Crompton, director of the Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble (Canada). His weblog focus sedon what it is like to be an ensemble performing at the Conference. Marc wrote us his first installment just prior to leaving Canada.
Outreach Programmes
The Conference began officially on 10 July, but for those who were there on 09 July, they were able to take in the first of many Outreach Programme concerts. Aligned with the main conference's vision, the Outreach Programmes served to bring the joy of wind music from many international groups to various parts of Singapore. The programmes also aimed to rouse the interest and appreciation of all audiences for music from different cultures and backgrounds. For a full schedule of Outreach Events, visit the Local Organizing Committee's Outreach web page.
