The following is a listing of composition contests currently receiving applications. A listing here is in no way to be construed as a WASBE endorsement of the competition. The contests are listed in order of the earliest deadline.

National Musical Composition Contest for Pasodobles, Villa de Pozo Estrecho
The first, second, and third prizes of 3,000, 900, and 300 Euros respectively will be awarded. The fourth and fifth places will be awarded a diploma. The compositional will be for original pasodobles and not awarded a prize in another contest. International Torrevieja Band Competition for Pasodobles "Villa de Pozo Estrecho"
The compositions must be original unpublished Pasodobles. Prizes for 1st (3.000 Euros), 2nd (900 Euros), 3rd (300 euros) Entries must be received by Saturday, October 16, 2010. For more information:
Symphony Composition Contest for Bands "City of Torrevieja"
Open to all composers, composition should be original and unedited and unpublished. Duration should be between 15 -20 minutes.The content and form shall be of free choice and arranged for instruments detailed in composition rules. A single proze of 15,000€ will be awarded. Entries must be received by Sunday, October 31, 2010. For more information:

III International Prize of Band Music Composition - Vila de Muro, 2011
The Town Council of Muro (Alicante) in conjuction with the Musical Union Society of Muro announces the III Internacional Prize of Band Music Composition - Vila de Muro, 2011 award. The aim of this competition is to encourage composers´creativity in this instrumental specialty as well as to enrich the musical and cultural heritage of music bands. The First Winning composition will be awarded a prize of 5,000 euros. Entries sent by post or courier should state the delivery date as well as the origin office. Entries sent and stamped on the same closing date or the previous one will also be accepted. The registration deadline is Friday, November 5, 2010. For more information:
